Edward James Coonan was born in January 1892, the fourth child and third son born to Michael Francis Coonan and Mary Honora Meehan.
Like his brother before him, little Edward was not destined to live a long life...he died on May 2, 1892, after a three week battle with tonsillitis and intestinal catarrh, at the age of three months and 7 days.
He joined other family members in the Coonan family plot at the Melbourne General Cemetery where he was buried on May 4, 1892. One of the witnesses was his uncle, Michael Meehan.
When Michael Coonan registered his son Edward's death, he stated that he had been born and died at Yan Yean...yet another location for a Coonan property!!!
