Jeremiah Coonan, second surviving son of Michael Coonan and Margaret Gleeson.

Not much is known by me about this elder of the two Coonan brothers. Like his younger brother Michael and father Michael, Jeremiah was a farmer.
He was born in Melbourne in 1848 to Irish parents Michael Coonan and Margaret Gleeson, and named after his paternal grandfather.
In 1876, Jeremiah Coonan married Margaret Mellon. She was the daughter of Joseph Mellon, farmer, and Mary Ann Thompson. At the time of their marriage on April 23, 1876, Margaret had been residing at Mooroopna, and Jeremiah at Euroa.
Their property was located at Creightons Creek near Euroa.
Jeremiah Coonan died in 1927, aged 77 years. His wife Margaret died in September 1934 also at the age of 77. It was noted in the Argus that she was the widow of Jeremiah Coonan, and had been a resident of Creighton's Creek for many years.
There were no children born to Jeremiah Coonan and Margaret mellon.
