Above is a photograph of Paddy Bourke's Victoria Hotel taken c. 1888-1890, when William Daly was the licensee. Clearly visible are the lovely deep verandahs and wrought iron work. In 1883, Paddy had obtained a license over one acre of ground south of the Boosey Creek and just within the township boundary with the plan to establish a brickworks facility. The red clay deposits used produced magnificent bricks of excellent quality, and Paddy incorporated most of his bricks for his own purposes, including the construction of the Victoria Hotel.
